Neil and Barry spent most of last Friday evening erecting a new steel frame structure to enhance our indoor training facilities in Ashford, Kent. The frame has a cat ladder with fixed safety system, platform/hatch, gantry and edge for various scenarios to be exercised by IRATA, work at height and rescue trainees. Barry said ” we are excited by the new structure as this offer us the opportunity to expand on our wind turbine training we already offer as the frame is overhanging such as a nacelle on a WTG, so we can train evacuation techniques”. We hope it will also offer IRATA technicians the ability to work over edges which has become a bone of contention within the rope access industry and forms an important part of the IRATA training syllabus. The platform should be complete ready for the next IRATA course commencing 4th November 2013.
